The GodRules.NET internet database enables you to quickly search our available books
and obtain optimal search results. I installed the search engine to make
finding various book topics and passages an easier task. Many options are
available to define what type of search you want. You can choose to
match any or all of your query, or utilize boolean operators with your
query. Also, You have the option to search one or all of books per
search. If you go to the main
search page on GodRules.NET, you even get to choose the amount of
results per page, how the results are sorted, and if they are long or
short output format.
Two primary search methods have been established. The first method
is searching by book chapter or book section. With this method, you
can find the chapter/section of your choosing by providing the
citation. For example, "John 3" or "Bk 3 Ch 4" or "Sermon 20" are good
citations. The second method is searching a given topic word. For
example, "love joy" or "God Justice" are good topic word phrases.
Simply put, the options any, all, or boolean are just what they
sound like. The option "any" tells the search engine to find matching
documents to any of the words you submitted. For example, "Lord Jesus
Christ" would find matching documents that contained any one of the
query words. The option "all" asks the search engine to match
documents that contain all the words submitted. "Boolean" on the
otherhand, allows for operators to be within the search phrase. For
instance, "patience and endurance not joy" would match any document
that contained both patience and endurance, except for when it had the
word joy in it.
Forty five books can be searched using GodRules.NET's multi-search
engine. You can either search them all or one book at a
time. If you are interested in some quick information on a given
topic, I would suggest that you search them all at once. You tend to
get much more output, and it allows you to see what many authors think,
instead of just one. Of course, the Bible is the only book we really
need, but we as human beings tend to impress our own viewpoint onto
what scripture is saying, so it is good idea to see what others think.
If you are interested in narrowing your search, using one book at a
time is a good option.
Above I mentioned that the main search page includes even more
options. One of these extra options is that the results can be
displayed 10, 20, 25, 50, or even 100 matches per page. You can also
choose how your results will be displayed. The main choices are score,
time, or title. Score is the default that is used when the option is
not offered. It displays the best matches first. Time displays the
matches in accordance to the date in which it was last revised. Title
outputs the results so they are in alphabetical order, using the title.
When searching one or more books, keep in mind that each book is
subdivided into either chapters or sections. This means that if you
are looking for a certain specific portion of text(i.e.~ a specific
verse or quote), you should enter keywords that are found within the
chapter that contains it. This way you don't have to limit your search
to words found only within the phrase your trying to find, you can also
use keywords around the phrase located within the same chapter. This
method will give you much greater accuracy for a given search query.
