Everyone is talking about Bitcoin and all the neat rebel things this currency can be used for. People like Glenn Beck and Alex Jones (although he didn't use to!) sing it's praises but is it really a good thing? Any currency without something backing it like Gold for example is not something you want to invest in. Bitcoin is just another Fiat currency that is volatile like stock. This idea of digital currency sounds cool but if a EMP/solar flare were to happen in the country you live in you would have no way to access your Bitcoins.

A cashless society means a governmental body could add any tax to your digital currency or even take money out to pay any "fees" without your consent.

Or just print more.. and dilute the currency..

Not sure what to think of bitcoin.. I kind of wonder who really was behind the creation.. My conspiracy side is thinking it was not just some random entrepreneur.

It is interesting that it has been used for anything and everything and even illegal things.. Like that silkroad website..

Yeah no one knows who made it and that is a red flag to me. Probably the best step is instead of selling just ounces of Gold if they had say various sizes for what you want. Say like 50.00 for an example. Not a lot of people buy Gold because of how expensive it is. Silver is out there and I have some of that but it usually never breaks above 25.00 for very long.

When I first heard of Bitcoin I think it was from AdamvstheMan, just some libertarian constitutional youtuber. He and other like minded people were all for it and pushing it. Which puzzled me, the are all about exposing the Fed but then endorsed bitcoin which doesn't make sense to me. I am going with my gut on this one and don't think bitcoin is good. It doesn't take too much imagination to see how it could be used as a precursor for some world currency.

That is curious.. Maybe because of their hatred for the Fed, they just assume some liberty lover created bitcoin..

However, even if it was a liberty lover, the fact is, the Government could easily take it away.

Sort of how Google's Sergey Brin is pals with Obama.. And how many corporate heads seem to be playing buds with the administration for perks and such.. I heard Google funneled a ton of money through a loop hole to avoid paying taxes.

Bitcoin easily could be taken control of by the government even in secret, so as to have a hand in the pot, control and such.

Paypal and a lot of these companies seem to have ties to the elite and makes me wonder how much business is freedom and liberty at work.

Comcast just bought Time Warner, right? They are such a mega huge conglomerate now and have sort of a monopoly over many things.

I just heard on Glenn Beck that the Obama goes golfing with many Comcast corporate heads.

Good point Anthony, a good example would be the TOR browser. Everyone use to think that was some sort of haven from the Government only for everyone to discover the NSA had their hooks on it for years.

Also Bitcoin's value had dropped a lot since last year. Last year it was 1,700 something and now it is in the 400's. Seems even more volatile than stock.

Yeah Comcast is such a monopoly right now. I feel bad for the Time Warner customers getting stuck with that. The customer service is just a answering machine with a bunch telemarketers.

I think the illuminati just infiltrated my Forums. lol. Bunch of spam bots and one of them was on another topic was bitcoin I think.. The others looked like pharmacy ones..

I have to modify the form I think to get rid of it for good.
