Gospel of Thomas

Did the Apostles use the Greek Septuagint of the Old Testament? Is this not proof that Jesus and the Apostles accepted the Apocrypha and Pseudepigraphica?

Lately I have been reading from the Gospel of Thomas and have really enjoyed it. While looking around on the internet it seems most consider it a gnostic text but I am not so sure about that. Do you believe it is a gnostic text or should it have been included in the cannon?

You know I think the Gospel of Thomas should at least be in an Appendix to the New Testament. I remember this verse how it said the kingdom of God wasn't in the sky with the birds but in side you. I thought that was a nice passage and sounds like something Christ could say. Is it as good as the other Gospels? That is a question I don't think anyone could answer. This book was discovered I think 100 years after Christ so the tradition is to always go with the books closest to the Apostles life span. If I knew how to made a leather bound Bible and had the funding I would add that book to an appendix along with the Apocalypse of Peter.

Gospel of Thomas is considerd Gnostic because of various sayings

like example

(114) Simon Peter said to him, "Let Mary leave us, for women are not worthy of life."
Jesus said, "I myself shall lead her in order to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every woman who will make herself male will enter the kingdom of heaven."

When I first started a few years ago really, looking for the truth, Gnosticism was very interesting and I really thought I might be onto something. I started to even really look into theosophy also. These things can be very misleading none the less fascinating. I don't know too much about the gospel of Thomas, I just assumed it was Gnostic.

it seems legit to me, but the gospel it self seems like one big parable

I DON'T buy that theGospel of Thomas is scripture at all' the very last part of it sound like something out of the koran
Simon Peter said to him, "Let Mary leave us, for women are not worthy of life."

how would anyone know if the passage was added at a later date? wasn't there only one copy of the book found

This is from a guy that I have researched and studied behind. His website is http://www.scriptual-truth.com. You should check out his edited version of the Gospel of Thomas, and there are many other great reads on his site. It might make more sense to you guys. We tend to look at and read things from a physical perspective and we miss the spiritual aspect of God's teachings that have been left to us, like this Gospel, the Book of Enoch, the Book of Adam and Eve, the Book of Jasher, and many others.

Here is another way to look at the last verse.
114) Simon Peter (The Church) said to him, let Mary (Out of whom the 7 demons of the age of flesh were cast) leave us, for women (Those who through the flesh deliver us into the world of the flesh) are (Or, by this analogy anyway, would seem to be) not worthy of life. (The Church cannot imagine Jesus transforming the lower, physical, or female into the upper, or spiritual, or male.) Jesus said, I myself shall lead her (That is, the world itself unfolds as Jesus would have it) in order to make her male, (Cause that which brings forth beings of flesh to cease, and to instead bring forth spiritual beings) so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males (Living spirits). For every woman (Fleshly person—for even we men are called the bride of Christ) who will make herself male (Spiritual) will enter the Kingdom of heaven. (Because he makes us like himself.)
