Job 31:1

Have certain terms like fornication been translated wrongly? What about polygamy? Eroticism?

Job 31:1

What about JOB 31:1? What about COLLOSIANS 3:5? Why Paul was making so much attention about not being carnal? If christians would accept this view of lust and porn and everything, how would they be different from wordly people? Please answer because I struggle with my sex drive and I want to start to live in peace with God and with myself finally. What would my pastor think if he knew I masturbate... One of my friends became an atheist when some pastor told him he has to choose between Jesus or masturbation. Please answer especially Job 31:1. Doesn't this prove that lusting after a virgin is sin?

Can i ask if you are married?

well, job was married.
how would his wife have felt if he decided to chase after younger woman? Would she have been hurt?

It might even have ended his marriage and broken his family and caused a great amount of pain and suffering for everyone involved.
so there would be sin involved for Job if he had not made that vow as he says in verse 2 it leads to ruin if it goes against what God has given you as your lot in life.

As for Colossians 3:5, fornication is :ugeek: a reference to Leviticus I think chapter 18 where it forbids having sex with family members.

Brian, polygamy is biblically permitted, and I don't see anywhere that says the wife has to be consulted for a man to take another wife. It just says he's not to diminish her food, duty, etc.

In light of this, your view that it would lead to ruin is not necessarily true. Beyond that, the Bible talks about "finding" a wife, so your Godly lot in life can be increased, imo, and is not limited to your present lot.

Its intresting you mention your sex drive, because this was a HUGE problem for me,and was becoming a big burden and stood in the way of me and Jesus.

All im saying mate it took about 1 year to conquer it and all it came down to was putting everything i had into jesus, all the time i was holding something back from him and i was trying to overcome my sexual desires by myself, and failed.

I do feel anyones pain because for alot of men this is a big problem, and i also found that no pastors or many christians talk about this, they run a mile when i used to talk about it.

Put EVERYTHING into Jesus give yourself up.If like me the sin was getting on top of you and breaking you in two,Jesus will come and heal you.

And im single, been 5 years now and i havnt masturbated for about 1 year now,If you fail keep dont give up, believe in Jesus he wont let you down mate God bless you.

Just because Moses "allowed" somethings doesn't mean they don't cause harm or expressions love. (Reference, Jesus talking about divorce.)

That said I think its clear to most who are trying to walk in love/light of God as Job was, wouldnt want to hurt their wife in the way 31;1 discusses.
