First, it checks your battery's voltage to make sure that the connections are good and that the battery is in stable condition before beginning the charge process. Second, it initializes a recovery process, if needed, for deeply discharged or sulfated batteries by pulsing small amounts of current. Third, it begins a bulk-charging process with a gentle (soft) charge. Fourth, the G1100 continues bulk-charging and returns 80 percent of the battery's capacity. Fifth, it brings the charge level to 100 percent by delivering small amounts of current to provide a safe, efficient charge and limit battery gassing. Sixth, it delivers only enough current to keep the battery full. And seventh, it monitors the battery voltage to determine whether a maintenance charge should be initiated. The maintenance cycle is repeated to keep the battery at full charge, without overcharging, and the charger can be left connected indefinitely.
