As with all Lodge Logic items, the press is preseasoned through a proprietary electrostatic inch vegetable oil spray system. The preseasoning process readies the press for cooking right out of the box, making it far more convenient than old-style cast-iron items that required seasoning before use. The cast-iron base is not only heavy, but also attractive thanks to its unique hammered finish. In addition, chefs will find it easy to wield due to the cool grip inch spiral handle. Lodge recommends hand washing the press with a stiff brush and hot water for best results.
