Gripping handles clamp on the bottle neck; pushing down the lever drives the tough corkscrew into the cork, and raising the lever pulls the cork out cleanly. Releasing the cork from the screw involves the same action, only with the gripping handles clamped on the cork. For strength and longevity this model is ruggedly constructed of die-cast metal and reinforced nylon, giving it the heft of a fine, precise high-tech tool. The device owes its name to handles and levers resembling rabbit ears, and gear housing shaped like the head of a bunny. Metrokane corkscrews are independently tested for 20,000 cork pulls; tests assume replacement of the spiral after 1,000 pulls.
