All log furniture is subject to the natural process of checking or splitting. Checking happens as wood releases moisture. It is the usual result of wood seasoning... and does not affect integrity of the wood. Corner posts are large, measuring approx. 4 inch in diameter. Logs are machine peeled of bark to a smooth feel.
