The Paradox knife, from renowned cutlery company Cold Steel, is designed to specifically mimic a traditional Balisong, in every respect but one -- it can't be opened with one hand. This distinction, while seemingly minor, means the knife offers the satisfying aesthetics of a traditional butterfly knife, but is completely legal. Its twin handles feature two integral springs, similar to a conventional slip joint folder, that are designed to rotate 180 degrees around the blade's unique split tang. Strong opposing spring tension, meanwhile, locks the blade open or holds it firmly closed. The elegant, leaf-shaped blade is hollow ground from imported Japanese AUS 8A stainless steel, and, due to the latest advances in heat treatment, it offers a thin, keen edge that lasts. Skeletonized handles are CNC machined from solid billets of 6061 aluminum, and feature a hard-anodized coating to reduce scratches and oxidation. An attached clip provides a convenient carrying solution.
