This is just a rumor. There is no evidence that televisions now monitor their viewers, and to my knowledge no technology exists to enable them to do so. It would not surprise me if "big brother" was doing that or working on doing it though. Small cameras could easily be installed in TV's to have them watch you but the picture tube itself cannot do this now. For years it has been possible to "hot hook" your phone so people can listen to what is being said even if the phone is hung up. Be careful to always tell the truth!
