    VERSE (24) -
    Job 15:27 Ps 17:10

    SEV Biblia, Chapter 21:24

Sus senos están llenas de leche, y sus huesos serán regados de tuétano.

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - Job 21:24

Verse 24. His breasts are full of milk ] The word wynyf[ atinaiv, which occurs nowhere else in the Hebrew Bible, is most likely an Arabic term, but probably so provincial as to be now lost. (Arabic) atana signifies to macerate hides so as to take off the hair: hence Mr. Good thinks it means here, that sleekness of skin which is the effect of fatness both in man and beast. But as the radical idea signifies to stink, as leather does which is thus macerated, I cannot see how this meaning can apply here. Under the root f[ atan, Mr. Parkhurst gives the following definitions: " f[ occurs, not as a verb, but as a noun masculine plural, in construction, ynyf[ atiney, the bowels, intestines; once ver. 24, wynyf[ atinaiv, his bowels or intestines, are full of, or abound with, blj chalab, fat. So the LXX.: ta de egkata autou plhrh steatov. The VULGATE: Viscera, ejus plena sent adipe, 'his intestines are full of fat.' May not µynyf[ atinim be a noun masculine plural from hf[ atah, to involve, formed as µynwylg gailyonim, mirrors, from hlg galah, to reveal? And may nor the intestines, including those fatty parts, the mesentery and omentum, be so called on account of their wonderful involutions?" I think this conjecture to be as likely as any that has yet been formed.

    Matthew Henry Commentary

    Verses 17-26 -
Job had described the prosperity of wicked people; in these verses he opposes this to what his friends had maintained about their certai ruin in this life. He reconciles this to the holiness and justice of God. Even while they prosper thus, they are light and worthless, of n account with God, or with wise men. In the height of their pomp an power, there is but a step between them and ruin. Job refers the difference Providence makes between one wicked man and another, int the wisdom of God. He is Judge of all the earth, and he will do right So vast is the disproportion between time and eternity, that if hell by the lot of every sinner at last, it makes little difference if one goe singing thither, and another sighing. If one wicked man die in palace, and another in a dungeon, the worm that dies not, and the fir that is not quenched, will be the same to them. Thus differences in this world are not worth perplexing ourselves about.
