    Clarke's Bible Commentary - Job 1:19

    Verse 19. A great wind from the wilderness ] Here was another proof of the influence of the prince of the power of the air. What mischief might he not do with this tremendous agent, were he not constantly under the control of the Almighty! He seems to have directed four different currents, which, blowing against the four corners or sides of the house, crushed it together, and involved all within in one common ruin.

    Matthew Henry Commentary

    Verses 13-19 -     Satan brought Job's troubles upon him on the day that his children began their course of feasting. The troubles all came upon Job at once while one messenger of evil tidings was speaking, another followed. Hi dearest and most valuable possessions were his ten children; news i brought him that they are killed. They were taken away when he had mos need of them to comfort him under other losses. In God only have we help present at all times. (Job 1:20-22)
