King James Bible - Ezekiel 47:9

And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.

World English Bible

It shall happen, that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come there, and [the waters of the sea] shall be healed, and everything shall live wherever the river comes.

Douay-Rheims - Ezekiel 47:9

And every living creature that creepeth whithersoever the torrent shall come, shall live: and there shall be fishes in abundance after these waters shall come thither, and they shall be healed, and all things shall live to which the torrent shall come.

Webster's Bible Translation

And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.

VERSE (9) -
Joh 3:16; 11:26

SEV Biblia, Chapter 47:9

Y será que toda alma viviente que nadare por dondequiera que entraren estos dos rios, vivirá; y habrá muchos peces en gran manera por haber entrado allá estas aguas, y recibirán sanidad; y vivirá todo lo que entrare en este arroyo.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Ezekiel 47:9

Verse 9. Every thing-whithersoever the
rivers shall come, shall live] Life and salvation shall continually accompany the preaching of the Gospel; the death of sin being removed, the life of righteousness shall be brought in.

There shall be a very great multitude of fish] On the above plan this must refer to genuine converts to the Christian faith; true believers, who have got life and salvation by the streams of God's grace. The apostles were fishers of men; converts were the fish caught. See below. As the waters flow into the DEAD Sea, where no fish, it is said, can live, its waters must be healed, that is, made capable of preserving life; and so its nature be thus far most surprisingly altered.

Matthew Henry Commentary
These waters signify the
gospel of Christ, which went forth from Jerusalem, and spread into the countries about; also the gifts an powers of the Holy Ghost which accompanied it, by virtue of which i spread far, and produced blessed effects. Christ is the Temple; and he is the Door; from him the living waters flow, out of his pierced side They are increasing waters. Observe the progress of the gospel in the world, and the process of the work of grace in the heart; attend the motions of the blessed Spirit under Divine guidance. If we search int the things of God, we find some things plain and easy to be understood as the waters that were but to the ankles; others more difficult, whic require a deeper search, as the waters to the knees, or the loins; an some quite beyond our reach, which we cannot penetrate; but must, a St. Paul did, adore the depth, Rom. 11. It is wisdom to begin with tha which is most easy, before we proceed to that which is dark and hard to be understood. The promises of the sacred word, and the privileges of believers, as shed abroad in their souls by the quickening Spirit abound where the gospel is preached; they nourish and delight the soul of men; they never fade nor wither, nor are exhausted. Even the leave serve as medicines to the soul: the warnings and reproofs of the word though less pleasant than Divine consolations, tend to heal the diseases of the soul. All who believe in Christ, and are united to his by his sanctifying Spirit, will share the privileges of Israelites There is room in the church, and in heaven, for all who seek the blessings of that new covenant of which Christ is Mediator __________________________________________________________________
