King James Bible - Ezekiel 24:6

Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall up on it.

    World English Bible

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen on it.

    Douay-Rheims - Ezekiel 24:6

Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city, to the
pot whose rust is in it, and its rust is not gone out of it: cast it out piece by piece, there hath no lot fallen upon it.

    Webster's Bible Translation

Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the
pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.

    SEV Biblia, Chapter 24:6

Pues así dijo el Señor DIOS: ¡Ay de la ciudad de sangre, de la olla no espumada, y cuya espuma no salió de ella! Por sus piezas, por sus piezas sácala; no caiga sobre ella suerte (de herencia ).

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - Ezekiel 24:6

Verse 6. Let no lot fall upon it.]
Pull out the flesh indiscriminately; let no piece be chosen for king or priest; thus showing that all should be involved in one indiscriminate ruin.
    Matthew Henry Commentary
    The fate of
Jerusalem. (Ezek. 24:1-14) The extent of the sufferings of the Jews. (Ezek. 24:15-27)

Ezek. 24:1-14 The pot on the fire represented Jerusalem besieged by the Chaldeans: all orders and ranks were within the walls, prepared as prey for the enemy. They ought to have put away their transgressions as the scum, which rises by the heat of the fire, is taken from the to of the pot. But they grew worse, and their miseries increased Jerusalem was to be levelled with the ground. The time appointed for the punishment of wicked men may seem to come slowly, but it will com surely. It is sad to think how many there are, on whom ordinances an providences are all lost.

Ezek. 24:15-27 Though mourning for the dead is a duty, yet it must be kept under by religion and right reason: we must not sorrow as men tha have no hope. Believers must not copy the language and expressions of those who know not God. The people asked the meaning of the sign. God takes from them all that was dearest to them. And as Ezekiel wept no for his affliction, so neither should they weep for theirs. Blessed be God, we need not pine away under our afflictions; for should all comforts fail, and all sorrows be united, yet the broken heart and the mourner's prayer are always acceptable before God __________________________________________________________________
