VERSE (5) -

SEV Biblia, Chapter 27:5

Y Rebeca oyó, cuando hablaba Isaac a Esaú su hijo; y se fue Esaú al campo para coger la caza que había de traer.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Genesis 27:5

Verse 5. And
Rebekah heard] And was determined, if possible, to frustrate the design of Isaac, and procure the blessing for her favourite son.

Some pretend that she received a Divine inspiration to the purpose; but if she had she needed not to have recourse to deceit, to help forward the accomplishment. Isaac, on being informed, would have had too much piety not to prefer the will of his Maker to his own partiality for his eldest son; but Rebekah had nothing of the kind to plead, and therefore had recourse to the most exceptionable means to accomplish her ends.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 1-5 - The promises of the Messiah, and of the land of Canaan, had come dow to Isaac. Isaac being now about 135 years of age, and his sons abou 75, and not duly considering the Divine word concerning his two sons that the elder should serve the younger, resolved to put all the honou and power that were in the promise, upon Esau his eldest son. We ar very apt to take measures rather from our own reason than from Divin revelation, and thereby often miss our way.
