King James Bible - Leviticus 4:26

And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

World English Bible

All its fat he shall burn on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and he will be forgiven.

Douay-Rheims - Leviticus 4:26

But the fat he shall burn upon it, as is wont to be done with the victims of peace offerings: and the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

Webster's Bible Translation

And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offerings: and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

VERSE (26) -
:8-10,35

SEV Biblia, Chapter 4:26

y quemará todo su sebo sobre el altar, como el sebo del sacrificio de la paz; así lo expiará el sacerdote de su pecado, y tendrá perdón.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 26. And he shall
burn all his fat upon the altar , &e.] Of burnt offering, that is, the priest shall do it: as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings ; (see Leviticus 3:3-5) and the priest shall make an atonement for him as concerning his sin ; in a typical way, directing to the great sacrifice of Christ, which is the only real atonement and propitiation for sin: the Vulgate Latin, Syriac, and Arabic versions, render, “the priest shall pray for him”: for the pardon of his sin: and it shall be forgiven him ; not for the prayers of the priest, nor for the sacrifice offered up, but for the sake of Christ, the antitype of such sacrifices, and when faith was exercised on him; or the meaning is, he shall not be punished for it.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 22-26 - Those who have power to call others to account, are themselve accountable to the
Ruler of rulers. The sin of the ruler, committe through ignorance, must come to his knowledge, either by the check of his own conscience, or by the reproof of his friends; both which eve the best and greatest, not only should submit to, but be thankful for That which I see not, teach thou me, and, Show me wherein I have erred are prayers we should put up to God every day; that if, throug ignorance, we fall into sin, we may not through ignorance abide in it.
