    King James Version
And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.
    World English Bible
The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there it is to this day.

    Douay-Rheims
Now the ends of the staves wherewith the ark was carried, because they were some thing longer, were seen before the oracle: but if a man were a little outward, he could not see them. So the ark has been there unto this day.

    Webster's Bible Translation
And they drew out the staffs of the ark, that the ends of the staffs were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is to this day.

    1Ki 8:8,9

    SEV Biblia
E hicieron salir fuera las barras, de modo que se viesen las cabezas de las barras del arca delante del oratorio, mas no se veían desde fuera; y allí estuvieron hasta hoy.
    Adam Clarke's Bible Commentary

Verse 9. They drew out the staves] As the ark was no longer to be carried about, these were unnecessary.

    Matthew Henry Commentary
    Verses 1-10 - The
ark was a type of Christ, and, as such, a token of the presence of God. That gracious promise, Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the en of the world, does, in effect, bring the ark into our religiou assemblies, if we by faith and prayer plead that promise; and this we should be most earnest for. When Christ is formed in a soul, the la written in the heart, the ark of the covenant settled there, so that is becomes the temple of the Holy Ghost, there is true satisfaction in that soul.
