    Douay-Rheims - Job 30:3

Barren with want and hunger, who gnawed in the wilderness, disfigured with calamity and misery.

    Webster's Bible Translation

For want and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former

    VERSE (3) -
    Job 24:13-16

    SEV Biblia, Chapter 30:3

Por causa de la pobreza y del hambre andaban solos; huían a la soledad, al lugar tenebroso, asolado y desierto.

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - Job 30:3

Verse 3. Fleeing into the wilderness ] Seeking something to sustain life even in the barren desert. This shows the extreme of want, when the desert is supposed to be the only place where any thing to sustain life can possibly be found.

    Matthew Henry Commentary

    Verses 1-14 -
Job contrasts his present condition with his former honour an authority. What little cause have men to be ambitious or proud of tha which may be so easily lost, and what little confidence is to be put in it! We should not be cast down if we are despised, reviled, and hate by wicked men. We should look to Jesus, who endured the contradictio of sinners.
