King James Bible - Leviticus 8:30

And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

    World English Bible

Moses took some of the anointing oil, and some of the blood which was on the altar, and sprinkled it on Aaron, on his garments, and on his sons, and on his sons' garments with him, and sanctified Aaron, his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

    Douay-Rheims - Leviticus 8:30

And taking the ointment, and the blood that was upon the altar, he sprinkled Aaron, and his vestments, and his sons, and their vestments with it.

    Webster's Bible Translation

    And
Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

    Ex 29:21; 30:30 Isa 61:1,3 Ga 5:22-25 Heb 2:11 1Pe 1:2

    SEV Biblia, Chapter 8:30

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - Leviticus 8:30

    Verse 30. And
Moses took-the blood-and sprinkled it upon Aaron, &c.] Thus we find that the high priest himself must be sprinkled with the blood of the sacrifice; and our blessed Lord, of whom Aaron was a type, was sprinkled with his own blood. 1. In his agony in the garden. 2. In his being crowned with thorns. 3. In the piercing of his hands and his feet. And, 4.

In his side being pierced with the spear. All these were so many acts of atonement performed by the high priest.

    John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 30. And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar , etc.] Which was sprinkled upon the altar round about, ( Leviticus 8:24) and these two seem to be mixed together, since it follows: and sprinkled [it] upon Aaron , etc. (see Gill on “ Exodus 29:21”).

    Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 14-36 - In these types we see our great
High Priest, even Christ Jesus solemnly appointed, anointed, and invested with his sacred office, by his own blood, and the influences of his Holy Spirit. He sanctifies the ordinances of religion, to the benefit of his people and the honour of God the Father; who for his sake accepts our worship, though it is polluted with sin. We may also rejoice, that he is a merciful an faithful High Priest, full of compassion to the feeble-minded an tempest-tossed soul. All true Christians are consecrated to be spiritual priests. We should seriously ask ourselves, whether in ou daily walk we study to maintain this character? and abound in spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Christ? If so, still there is n cause for boasting. Let us not despise our fellow-sinners; but remembering what we have done, and how we are saved, let us seek an pray for their salvation __________________________________________________________________
