    King James Bible - 1 Chronicles 22:18

Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.

    World English Bible

"Isn't Yahweh your God with you? Hasn't he given you rest on every
side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Yahweh, and before his people.

    Douay-Rheims - 1 Chronicles 22:18

Saying: You see, that the Lord your God is with you, and hath given you rest
round about, and hath delivered all your enemies into your hands, and the land is subdued before the Lord, and be- fore his people.

    Webster's Bible Translation

Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every
side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.

    Jud 6:12-14 Ro 8:31

    SEV Biblia, Chapter 22:18

¿No es con vosotros el SEÑOR vuestro Dios, el cual os ha dado quietud de todas partes? Porque él ha entregado en mi mano los moradores de la tierra, y la tierra ha sido sujetada delante del SEÑOR, y delante de su pueblo.

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - 1 Chronicles 22:18

    Verse 18. Is not the
Lord your God with you?] "Is not the WORD of the Lord your God your assistant?" -T.

Hath he not given you rest on every side?] David at this time was not only king of Judea, but had also subdued most of the surrounding nations.

Thus Solomon came to the Jewish throne with every possible advantage.

Had he made a proper use of his state and of his talents, he would have been the greatest as well as the wisest of sovereigns. But alas! how soon did this pure gold become dim! He began with an unlawful matrimonial connection; this led him to a commerce that was positively forbidden by the law of God: he then multiplied his matrimonial connections with heathen women; they turned his heart away from God, and the once wise and holy Solomon died a fool and an idolater.

    John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 18. Is not the Lord your God with you ? etc.] Blessing them with wealth and riches: and hath he not given you rest on every side ? from all enemies within and without; so that they had peace and quietness, and leisure to attend the service he recommended to them: for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into my hand ; meaning the rest of the Canaanites, who before were unsubdued, as even the Jebusites in Jerusalem: and the land is subdued before the Lord, and before his people ; and the extent of it carried to its utmost bounds, as God had promised.

    Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 17-19 - Whatever is done towards rendering the word of
God generally known an attended to, is like bringing a stone, or an ingot of gold, toward erecting the temple. This should encourage us when we grieve that we d not see more fruit of our labours; much good may appear after ou death, which we never thought of. Let us not then be weary of wel doing. The work is in the hands of the Prince of peace. As he, the Author and Finisher of the work, is pleased to employ us as his instruments, let us arise and be doing, encouraging and helping on another; working by his rule, after his example, in dependence on his grace, assured that he will be with us, and that our labour shall no be in vain in the Lord __________________________________________________________________
