For there are eunuchs, who were born so from their mother's womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made so by
men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that can take, let him take it.

King James Bible - Matthew 19:12

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of
men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

    World English Bible

For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by
men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven's sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it."

    Matt. xix. 12.

So that all who, by human law, are twice married,1788

1788 διγαμίας ποιούμενοι, lit. contracting a double marriage. Of double marriages there are three kinds: the first, marriage with a second wife while the first is still alive and recognised as a lawful wife, or bigamy; the second, marriage with a second wife after divorce from the first, and third, marriage with a second wife after the death of the first. It is thought that Justin here refers to the second case.

are in the eye of our Master sinners, and those who look upon a woman to lust after her. For not only he who in act commits adultery is rejected by Him, but also he who desires to commit adultery: since not only our works, but also our thoughts, are open before God. And many, both men and women, who have been Christ’s disciples from childhood, remain pure at the age of sixty or seventy years; and I boast that I could produce such from every race of men. For what shall I say, too, of the countless multitude of those who have reformed intemperate habits, and learned these things? <index subject1="Repentance" title="167" id="viii.ii.xv-p5.2"/>For Christ called not the just nor the chaste to repentance, but the ungodly, and the licentious, and the unjust; His words being, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”1789

But consider those who are of a different opinion with respect to the grace of Christ which has come unto us, how opposed they are to the will of God. <index subject1="Heretics, views of early" title="89" id=""/>They have no regard for love; no care for the widow, or the orphan, or the oppressed; of the bond, or of the free; of the hungry, or of the thirsty.

Let no man’s place, or dignity, or riches, puff him up; and let no man’s low condition or poverty abase him. <index subject1="Love" subject2="to God" title="89" id=""/>For the chief points are faith towards God, hope towards Christ, the enjoyment of those good things for which we look, and love towards God and our neighbour. For, “Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and thy neighbour as thyself.”1013
