    SEV Biblia
Y viéndole el padre de la joven, le salió a recibir gozoso; y le detuvo su suegro, el padre de la joven, y quedó en su casa tres días, comiendo y bebiendo, y reposando allí.
    John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 4. And his father in law, the damsel’s father, retained him , etc.] Prevailed upon him to stay some time with him: and he abode with him three days ; it seems as if he agreed to stay with him so long, and that time he stayed contentedly: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there ; the Levite and his servant were very handsomely entertained, and had everything provided for them convenient for meat, drink, and lodging.

    Matthew Henry Commentary
    - The
wickedness of the men of Gibeah.

--The three remaining chapters of this book contain a very sad histor of the wickedness of the men of Gibeah, in Benjamin. The righteous Lor permits sinners to execute just vengeance on one another, and if the scene here described is horrible, what will the discoveries of the da of judgment be! Let each of us consider how to escape from the wrath to come, how to mortify the sins of our own hearts, to resist Satan' temptations, and to avoid the pollutions there are in the world _________________________________________________
