    SEV Biblia, Chapter 10:29

Y respondiendo Jess, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no hay ninguno que haya dejado casa, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o mujer, o hijos, o heredades, por causa de mí y del Evangelio,

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - Mark 10:29

    Verse 29. And the
Gospel's] Read, for the sake of the Gospel. I have with Griesbach adopted eneken, for the sake, on the authority of BCDEGHKMS, V, sixty others, and almost all the versions.

    John Gill's Bible Commentary

    Ver. 29. And
Jesus answered and said, verily I say unto you , etc..] This evangelist omits what Matthew relates; that whereas Peter, and his fellow disciples had followed Christ in the present time, hereafter when he appeared in his glory, they should sit upon twelve thrones, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel; (see Matthew 19:28), and where it is added to the same sense as here; there is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sister, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the Gospel's ; for the sake of preaching, or professing Christ, and his Gospel. The word wife is left out in the Vulgate Latin version, perhaps because it is not repeated in the following verse; but all copies, and other versions have it; (see Gill on Matthew 19:29).

    Matthew Henry Commentary

    Verses 23-31 -
Christ took this occasion to speak to his disciples about the difficulty of the salvation of those who have abundance of this world Those who thus eagerly seek the wealth of the world, will never rightl prize Christ and his grace. Also, as to the greatness of the salvatio of those who have but little of this world, and leave it for Christ The greatest trial of a good man's constancy is, when love to Jesu calls him to give up love to friends and relatives. Even when gainer by Christ, let them still expect to suffer for him, till they reac heaven. Let us learn contentment in a low state, and to watch agains the love of riches in a high one. Let us pray to be enabled to par with all, if required, in Christ's service, and to use all we ar allowed to keep in his service.
