SEV Biblia, Chapter 19:21

Esta es la palabra que el SEÑOR ha hablado contra él: ¿Te ha menospreciado? ¿Te ha escarnecido, oh virgen hija de Sion? Ha movido su cabeza detrás de ti hija de Jerusalén.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - 2 Kings 19:21

Verse 21. The
virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.] "So truly contemptible is thy power, and empty thy boasts, that even the young women of Jerusalem, under the guidance of Jehovah, shall be amply sufficient to discomfit all thy forces, and cause thee to return with shame to thy own country, where the most disgraceful death awaits thee." When Bishop Warburton had published his Doctrine of Grace, and chose to fall foul on some of the most religious people of the land, a young woman of the city of Gloucester exposed his graceless system in a pamphlet, to which she affixed the above words as a motto!

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 20-34 - All Sennacherib's motions were under the
Divine cognizance. God himsel undertakes to defend the city; and that person, that place, cannot but be safe, which he undertakes to protect. The invasion of the Assyrian probably had prevented the land from being sown that year. The next is supposed to have been the sabbatical year, but the Lord engaged tha the produce of the land should be sufficient for their support durin those two years. As the performance of this promise was to be after the destruction of Sennacherib's army, it was a sign to Hezekiah's faith assuring him of that present deliverance, as an earnest of the Lord' future care of the kingdom of Judah. This the Lord would perform, no for their righteousness, but his own glory. May our hearts be as goo ground, that his word may strike root therein, and bring forth fruit in our lives.
