    SEV Biblia
He aquí yo pongo en él un espíritu, y oirá rumor, y volverá a su tierra; y yo haré que en su tierra caiga a cuchillo.
    Adam Clarke's Bible Commentary

Verse 7. Behold, I will send a blast-and he shall hear a rumor] The rumor was, that Tirhakah had invaded Assyria. The blast was that which slew one hundred and eighty-five thousand of them in one night, see ver. 35.

Cause him to fall by the sword] Alluding to his death by the hands of his two sons, at Nineveh. See ver. 35-37.

    Matthew Henry Commentary
    Verses 1-7 -
Hezekiah discovered deep concern at the dishonour done to God be Rabshakeh's blasphemy. Those who speak from God to us, we should in particular manner desire to speak to God for us. The great Prophet is the great Intercessor. Those are likely to prevail with God, who lif up their hearts in prayer. Man's extremity is God's opportunity. Whil his servants can speak nothing but terror to the profane, the proud and the hypocritical, they have comfortable words for the discourage believer.
