SEV Biblia, Chapter 41:6
Y si alguno venía a verme, hablaba mentira; su corazón amontonaba iniquidad; y salido fuera, la hablaba.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Psalms 40:6
Verse 6. And if he come to see me ] This may relate to Ahithophel; but it is more likely that it was to some other person who was his secret enemy, who pretended to come and inquire after his health, but with the secret design to see whether death was despatching his work. When he goeth abroad, he telleth it. ] He makes several observations on my dying state; intimates that I am suffering deep remorse for secret crimes; that God is showing his displeasure against me, and that I am full of sorrow at the approach of death.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 5-13 - We complain, and justly, of the want of sincerity, and that there is scarcely any true friendship to be found among men; but the former day were no better. One particularly, in whom David had reposed grea confidence, took part with his enemies. And let us not think i strange, if we receive evil from those we suppose to be friends. Have not we ourselves thus broken our words toward God? We eat of his brea daily, yet lift up the heel against him. But though we may not tak pleasure in the fall of our enemies, we may take pleasure in the makin vain their designs. When we can discern the Lord's favour in any mercy personal or public, that doubles it. If the grace of God did not tak constant care of us, we should not be upheld. But let us, while of earth, give heartfelt assent to those praises which the redeemed of earth and in heaven render to their God and Saviour __________________________________________________________________
