E Isi fue hijo de Apaim; y Sesán, hijo de Isi; e hijo de Sesán, Ahlai.

Ver. 31. And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi: Sheshan , etc.] Though they had each of them but one son, yet the plural number is used, their posterity being included, as in ( 1 Chronicles 2:8) and so in the next clause: and the children of Sheshan; Ahlai ; who, from ( 1 Chronicles 2:34,35) appears to be a daughter. Ver. 32 . And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai , etc.] ( Chronicles 2:28), Jether and Jonathan: and Jether died without children ; the posterity of Jonathan are given the next verse.

Genealogies. --We are now come to the register of the children of Israel, tha distinguished people, who were to dwell alone, and not be reckone among the nations. But now, in Christ, all are welcome to his salvatio who come to him; all have equal privileges according to their faith in him, their love and devotedness to him. All that is truly valuabl consists in the favour, peace, and image of God, and a life spent to his glory, in promoting the welfare of our fellow-creatures __________________________________________________________________
