    VERSE (24) -
    Mr 6:26 2Co 7:9,10

    SEV Biblia, Chapter 18:24

Y viendo Jess que se había entristecido mucho, dijo: ¡Cun dificultosamente entrarn en el Reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - Luke 18:24

Verse 24. How hardly shall they that have
riches, &c.] See the notes on this discourse of our Lord, on Matt. xix. 21-30, and Mark x. 30.

    John Gill's Bible Commentary

    Ver. 24. And when
Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful , etc.] As he might, by his looks and gestures; and perceived that he was determined not to part with his possessions, and follow him: he said to his disciples, how hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God ! embrace the Gospel, and submit to the ordinances of it; deny themselves, part with their worldly substance for the cause of Christ, and interest of religion. Riches, which should be a reason for, are often a bar unto a profession of Christ, and his Gospel. This is delivered as an affirmation, or by way of assertion, (see Gill on Matthew 19:23).

    Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 18-30 - Many have a great deal in them very commendable, yet
perish for lack of some one thing; so this ruler could not bear Christ's terms, whic would part between him and his estate. Many who are loth to leav Christ, yet do leave him. After a long struggle between their convictions and their corruptions, their corruptions carry the day They are very sorry that they cannot serve both; but if one must be quitted, it shall be their God, not their wordly gain. Their boaste obedience will be found mere outside show; the love of the world in some form or other lies at the root. Men are apt to speak too much of what they have left and lost, of what they have done and suffered for Christ, as Peter did. But we should rather be ashamed that there ha been any regret or difficulty in doing it.
