SEV Biblia, Chapter 2:12

¶ Y se sentó Salomón en el trono de David su padre, y fue su reino firme en gran manera.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 12. Then sat
Solomon on the throne of David his father , etc.] So he did in his lifetime, with his consent, and by his order, and now by the agreement of the whole people: and his kingdom was established greatly ; all submitting to it, and none opposing it.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 12-25 -
Solomon received Bathsheba with all the respect that was owing to mother; but let none be asked for that which they ought not to grant It ill becomes a good man to prefer a bad request, or to appear in bad cause. According to eastern customs it was plain that Adonija sought to be king, by his asking for Abishag as his wife, and Solomo could not be safe while he lived. Ambitious, turbulent spirits commonl prepare death for themselves. Many a head has been lost by catching a a crown.
