VERSE (12) -
Ps 31:8

SEV Biblia, Chapter 23:12

Dijo luego David: ¿Me entregarán los señores de Keila a mí y a los varones que están conmigo en manos de Saúl? Y el SEÑOR respondió: Te entregarán.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 12. Then said
David, will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul ? etc.] That is, the lords and great men of the place, the governor of the city, and the heads of it, the chief magistrates in it: and the Lord said, they will deliver [thee] up : that is, provided he stayed there; for the Lord knew the dispositions and affections of their minds, that they were inclined to do it, and would do it, if he continues among them till Saul came down; which showed the great ingratitude of this people to their deliverer.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 7-13 - Well might
David complain of his enemies, that they rewarded him evi for good, and that for his love they were his adversaries. Christ wa used thus basely. David applied to his great Protector for direction No sooner was the ephod brought him than he made use of it. We have the Scriptures in our hands, let us take advice from them in doubtfu cases. Say, Bring hither the Bible. David's address to God is very solemn, also very particular. God allows us to be so in our addresse to him; Lord, direct me in this matter, about which I am now at a loss God knows not only what will be, but what would be, if it were no hindered; therefore he knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and how to render to every man according to his works.
