The vessels of the deceitful are most wicked: for he hath framed devices to destroy the meek, with lying words, when the poor man speaketh judgment.

Webster's Bible Translation

The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

SEV Biblia, Chapter 32:7

Cierto los avaros malas medidas tienen ; él maquina pensamientos para enredar a los simples con palabras cautelosas; y para hablar en juicio contra el pobre.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Isaiah 32:7

Verse 7. The instruments also of the churl are
evil "As for the niggard, his instruments are evil"] His machinations, his designs. The paronomasia, which the prophet frequently deals in, suggested this expression wylk ylkw vechelai kelaiv. The first word is expressed with some variety in the MSS. Seven MSS. read ylykw vekili, one lkw vechol, another ylwkw vecoli.

To destroy the poor with lying words "To defeat the assertions of the poor in judgment"] A word seems to have been lost here, and two others to have suffered a small alteration, which has made the sentence very obscure. The Septuagint have happily retained the rendering of the lost word, and restored the sentence in all its parts: kai diaskedasai logouv tapeinwn en krisei fpmb wyba yrbd rphlw ulehapher dibrey ebyon bemishpat, "And disperse the words of the poor in judgment. " They frequently render the verb rph haphar by diaskedasai, A MS. reads rbdlw uledabber, which gives authority for the preposition l lamed, to, necessary to the sense, and the Septuagint, Syriac, and Chaldee read fpmb bemishpat, IN judgment.

Matthew Henry Commentary
Times of
peace and happiness. (Is. 32:1-8) An interval of trouble, ye comfort and blessings in the end. (Is. 32:9-20)

Is. 32:1-8 Christ our righteous King, and his true disciples, ar evidently here intended. The consolations and graces of his Spirit ar as rivers of water in this dry land; and as the overhanging roc affords refreshing shade and shelter to the weary traveller in the desert, so his power, truth, and love, yield the believer the only rea protection and refreshment in the weary land through which he journey to heaven. Christ bore the storm himself, to keep it off from us. To him let the trembling sinner flee for refuge; for he alone can protec and refresh us in every trial. See what pains sinners take in sin; the labour at it, their hearts are intent upon it, and with art they wor iniquity; but this is our comfort, that they can do no more mischie than God permits. Let us seek to have our hearts more freed from selfishness. The liberal soul devises liberal things concerning God and desires that He will grant wisdom and prudence, the comforts of his presence, the influence of his Spirit, and in due time the enjoyment of his glory.

Is. 32:9-20 When there was so much provocation given to the holy God bad times might be expected. Alas! how many careless ones there are who support self-indulgence by shameful niggardliness! We deserve to be deprived of the supports of life, when we make them the food of lusts Let such tremble and be troubled. Blessed times shall be brought in by the pouring out of the Spirit from on high; then, and not till then there will be good times. The present state of the Jews shall continu until a more abundant pouring out of the Spirit from on high. Peace an quietness shall be found in the way and work of righteousness. Tru satisfaction is to be had only in true religion. And real holiness is real happiness now, and shall be perfect happiness, that is, perfec holiness for ever. The good seed of the word shall be sown in all places, and be watered by Divine grace; and laborious, patien labourers shall be sent forth into God's husbandry __________________________________________________________________
