SEV Biblia, Chapter 32:20

Dichosos vosotros los que sembráis sobre todas las aguas; los que aréis con buey y con asno.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Isaiah 32:20

Verse 20. That sow beside all waters "Who sow your
seed in every well-watered place"] Sir John Chardin's note on this place is: "This exactly answers the manner of planting rice; for they sow it upon the water, and before sowing, while the earth is covered with water, they cause the ground to be trodden by oxen, horses, and asses, who go mid-leg deep; and this is the way of preparing the ground for sowing. As they sow the rice on the water, they transplant it in the water. " Harmer's Observ. vol. i. p. 280. "Rice is the food of two- thirds of mankind. " Dr. Arbuthnot. "It is cultivated in most of the eastern countries. " Miller. "It is good for all, and at all times. " Sir J. Chardin, ib.

Paris, 1666. - L. "Rice, which is the principal grain and aliment of the Siamese, can never be too much watered. It grows in the water, and the fields where it is sown resemble marshes rather than fields cultivated by ploughing. Rice has that property that although it be covered with water six or seven feet deep, yet it raises its stalk above it; and this grows long in proportion to the depth of the water by which the field is inundated."

Matthew Henry Commentary
Times of
peace and happiness. (Is. 32:1-8) An interval of trouble, ye comfort and blessings in the end. (Is. 32:9-20)

Is. 32:1-8 Christ our righteous King, and his true disciples, ar evidently here intended. The consolations and graces of his Spirit ar as rivers of water in this dry land; and as the overhanging roc affords refreshing shade and shelter to the weary traveller in the desert, so his power, truth, and love, yield the believer the only rea protection and refreshment in the weary land through which he journey to heaven. Christ bore the storm himself, to keep it off from us. To him let the trembling sinner flee for refuge; for he alone can protec and refresh us in every trial. See what pains sinners take in sin; the labour at it, their hearts are intent upon it, and with art they wor iniquity; but this is our comfort, that they can do no more mischie than God permits. Let us seek to have our hearts more freed from selfishness. The liberal soul devises liberal things concerning God and desires that He will grant wisdom and prudence, the comforts of his presence, the influence of his Spirit, and in due time the enjoyment of his glory.

Is. 32:9-20 When there was so much provocation given to the holy God bad times might be expected. Alas! how many careless ones there are who support self-indulgence by shameful niggardliness! We deserve to be deprived of the supports of life, when we make them the food of lusts Let such tremble and be troubled. Blessed times shall be brought in by the pouring out of the Spirit from on high; then, and not till then there will be good times. The present state of the Jews shall continu until a more abundant pouring out of the Spirit from on high. Peace an quietness shall be found in the way and work of righteousness. Tru satisfaction is to be had only in true religion. And real holiness is real happiness now, and shall be perfect happiness, that is, perfec holiness for ever. The good seed of the word shall be sown in all places, and be watered by Divine grace; and laborious, patien labourers shall be sent forth into God's husbandry __________________________________________________________________
