    SEV Biblia, Chapter 7:14

¶ Y al medio de la Fiesta subi Jess al Templo, y enseaba.

    Clarke's Bible Commentary - John 7:14

Verse 14. The midst of the
feast] Though the canons required him to be there on the first day, for the performance of a great variety of rites, yet, as these were in general the invention of their doctors, he might think it very proper neither to attend nor perform them.

    John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 14. Now about the midst of the
feast , etc.] About the fourth day of it, for it lasted eight days; this might be on the sabbath day, which sometimes was gjh wtb , in the middle of the feast f299 ; and the rather, since it follows, Jesus went up into the temple ; as the Lord and proprietor of it, and as was his usual method; he had for some reasons kept himself retired till now, and now he appeared publicly: and taught the people his doctrine; he expounded the Scriptures, gave the true sense of them, and instructed the people out of them.

    Matthew Henry Commentary

    Verses 14-24 - Every
faithful minister may humbly adopt Christ's words. His doctrin is not his own finding out, but is from God's word, through the teaching of his Spirit. And amidst the disputes which disturb the world, if any man, of any nation, seeks to do the will of God, he shal know whether the doctrine is of God, or whether men speak of themselves. Only those who hate the truth shall be given up to error which will be fatal. Surely it was as agreeable to the design of the sabbath to restore health to the afflicted, as to administer an outwar rite. Jesus told them to decide on his conduct according to the spiritual import of the Divine law. We must not judge concerning any by their outward appearance, but by their worth, and by the gifts an graces of God's Spirit in them.
