VERSE (46) -
Jud 16:21 La 4:20 Joh 18:12 Ac 2:23

SEV Biblia, Chapter 14:46

Entonces ellos echaron en l sus manos, y le prendieron.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 46. And they laid
hands on him, and took him .] After Christ had said to Judas, friend, wherefore art thou come? as in Matthew; and also, Judas, betrayest thou the son of man with a kiss? as in ( Luke 22:48); (see Gill on Matthew 26:50).

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 43-52 - Because
Christ appeared not as a temporal prince, but preache repentance, reformation, and a holy life, and directed men's thoughts and affections, and aims to another world, therefore the Jewish ruler sought to destroy him. Peter wounded one of the band. It is easier to fight for Christ than to die for him. But there is a great differenc between faulty disciples and hypocrites. The latter rashly and withou thought call Christ Master, and express great affection for him, ye betray him to his enemies. Thus they hasten their own destruction.
